Haven't seen us since last summer?

We are getting into our busy season and are excited to see our summer clients back.  In anticipation of this, we have checked all the shot records on file and have a list of who needs what.  If you've made a trip to the vet since the summer for shots, please call your vet and have the records faxed over before you do your request.  We can get everything rolling smoothly and there will be no delay in the invoicing process!  Hooray!
After all the downed trees, power lines, and hail today, tomorrow will be pretty boring.

Kanawha Charleston Fur Ball

We are proud to be co-sponsors of the Kanawha Charleston Fur Ball this year.  The annual fundraiser takes place Friday April 8th from 6 to 9 pm.  Admission is $30 in advance and $35 at the door.  It should be a great time!  Here is a link for more information:

Scott Depot "office" in full swing!

As we spread westward, we are adding staff as well.  This article was in the Putnam Herald and then two weeks later our article that came out in Feb appeared in another Putnam County paper!  We are super excited for all the events coming up.  We will be all over the area letting people know who we are.  What fun!
As of March 1st, our satellite office is running! Our new starting point for the 10 miles is the Scott Depot Post Office.

New shoe covers!!

I was doing a new client interview while they were getting their cable fixed.  When the cable guy came into the house, he slipped on some shoe covers.  This solved soo many issues we have been having.  We have been having some spring rain and mud, so we were having messy issues with dogs and removing our shoes.  I found the covers on a safety company's website and now we are equipped!  Everyone has a couple of pairs of industrial grade shoe covers to stop the mess.  We still ask that all clients have towels for us to dry and clean off their dogs, but now WE are not using the towels as well!!

New Satellite Office Coming Soon

Woah, Nelly! We are currently working on our satellite location in Teays Valley. This will create a new 10 mile radius and will negate many current distance fees paid by our wonderful clients in the valley.

We'll be splitting the miniblog picture posts between South Charleston and the new facebook page. We are so excited, we can hardly stand it!! We will also be doling out tips for the seasons and local events. 

We have some bright new pet care specialists joining the NoMessPets pack to introduce! Two new part-time pet specialists that I will be training starting this week.  You'll soon see their names on blog posts when they are ready to solo.

Groundhog Day!

I attended the South Charleston Groundhog Breakfast and got to see lots of speeches and did I mention breakfast?  It was a good time and pretty informative.  I discovered when I got back to the office that the temperature outside had dropped 20 degrees and that I had a few messages from people who had read an article on NoMessPets in the morning paper!  I've linked a scanned copy below.  Enjoy!

Big date night coming up?

Valentine's Day is coming up and there is no reason not to go out and have a nice dinner and a movie.  Call on No Mess Pets and we'll make sure your pets are fed, watered, and happy when you get home.  If you just need your dog to get out for a quick potty break while you are out, we can do that, too.

We are searching for animal lovers who would like to work with us part time as pet care specialists.  We will train you.  Here is the ad we have posted on the local college websites:

We are looking for 3-5 people to work with pets as pet sitters/dog walkers.  Comfort with dogs/cats/etc, computers, and internet applications is a must.  Current drivers license, car w/ insurance required, and a mobile phone.  We will perform a background check prior to training period.  Check out www.nomesspets.com to see what we do.  Please send any questions, your resume, and letter of interest to info@nomesspets.com. New Avenues for Credit Card Acceptance

Up until now, we have been using Paypal to accept credit card payments.  Some clients have been having issues or just don't want to use Paypal, so we started looking around for other options. 
For new clients or clients who catch us on the run, we have Square.  Square is a nifty credit card processor that provides a swiper that plugs into our smartphone headset jacks.  We can now swipe your card during the initial interview instead of waiting to get the paypal invoice to you.  The receipt can be emailed or texted to you right away!
We have also signed up with a gateway through Sam's Club and FirstData.  This option allows someone in the office to take your credit information over the phone/via fax for a one time payment. We are currently integrating the gateway into our website, so we can send you an invoice through Quickbooks and you can pay online any time of day or night! 
We love our clients and want to make our payment system as user friendly as possible.

Watch for us in the papers

Ben Calwell from Charleston Newspapers came by to see our new office and to talk to us about our services and the things we've been up to.  Last time he did an article about us in April 2010, it ran several times in the various papers.  It was great and it really helped us get the word out about NoMessPets!  Thank you so much Ben!

Our New Ramp Has It's First Solo!

Today, our client who has been using me as training wheels went right up the ramp with no assistance or hesitation.  She was so pleased and I was so pleased that she leaned on me while I hugged her and we both snorted and laughed.  Our ramp is now officially part of the No Mess Pets inventory.  Many future successes to come!

New Service Available

No Mess Pets now does Potty Breaks.  Would you like to use your lunch hour to eat, go to the gym, or take a break?  We can let your pup out to potty and you don't need to worry.  You can check your phone or computer to see that your buddy had a bit of exercise in the middle of the day.
